WAUWATOSA, WI We are living in a time of reboots from the 90s, from shows such as Sex and the City and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to snacks such as Dunkaroos. It seems only fitting a catchy Green Bay Packers jam did the Lambeau Leap forward to the year 2021.

Eddy J. Lemberger of Milwaukee wrote the polka song I Love My Green Bay Packers in 1993. The catchy song dropped names such as Willard Scott, Bill and Hillary Clinton and talk show hosts Phil Donahue, Regis Philbin and Oprah.

At a time when most live entertainment has been canceled due to the pandemic, a nonprofit professional ice dancing company is providing free, safe, outdoor entertainment for the public this winter. Ice Dance International (IDI) has brought together a group of world class skaters who have arrived in Portsmouth to begin a month long program that will involve NH schools and outdoor pop-up performances at Labrie Family Skate at Puddle Dock Pond, located in the heart of Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

WEST HARTFORD West Hartford was prominently featured as Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday that he is appointing 11 members to serve on the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council or POST.
The council, a division of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, oversees training and certification of police officers, as well as a mandatory police department accreditation program. Last summer, Lamont signed into law July Special Session Public Act 20-1, which refreshed the membership of the council effective January 1, 2021.

Thursday s appointments bring the experience and perspectives of a diverse group of police chiefs, municipal officials and dedicated community members to bear on the challenges of improving public safety and police accountability in Connecticut, Lamont said.

CONCORD, NH Facing mounting criticism about the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Gov. Chris Sununu came to his weekly news conference Thursday armed with charts and graphs and news of a major change that will allow people 65 and older instead of 75 and older to register for the shot Jan. 22.

This will include about 300,000 people in Phase 1b who will be able to start getting the first dose of the vaccine on Jan. 26 after they register, Sununu said. Medically vulnerable people of all ages who will also be eligible will need to get certification from their doctors that they have two or more medical conditions that qualify for the early vaccine.

Plymouth City Manager Dave Callister announced that Erik Fadden has been selected to fill the dual post of Plymouth public safety director and police chief, effective Monday, Feb. 1. A 16-year veteran of the Plymouth Police Department, Fadden has served as deputy police chief since 2018.

Fadden will fill the vacancy that will be created when Public Safety Director and Police Chief Mike Goldstein retires at the end of January. Fadden s appointment comes after an internal search.
As public safety director, Fadden will lead the Public Safety Department, which encompasses the Plymouth Police and Fire departments, as well as emergency management services. In the role, Fadden will be responsible for the overall administration, strategic planning and financial oversight of the Public Safety Department.
