Shakib, Mustafizur return country, stay quarantine in a hotel

DHAKA, May 6, 2021 (BSS) Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman finally returned to Bangladesh from India through special arrangements made by their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) franchisees.
Shakib and Mustafizur however went straight to the Hotel for a mandatory 14-day quarantine as per the directive of the health department. While Mustafizur checked in Hotel Sonargaon with his wife for quarantine, Shakib chose to stay quarantine in Four Points by Sheraton in Gulshan,
“They have come here through a chartered flight and their respective franchisees made the arrangements,” BCB logistic official Wasim Khan told the media.

Evaly acquired the deal with BDT 2 crore, said the Bangladesh Cricket Board
(BCB) CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury who announced the name of Evaly as the team
sponsor today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mehidy becomes fastest Bangladeshi to reach 100 Test wickets

Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the right-arm off-spinner and all-rounder, has become the fastest Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 Test wickets.
He is the fourth Bangladesh bowler to take 100 or more scalps in Tests.
Mehidy bagged his 100th wicket removing West Indies Sheyne Moseley for seven in the last session of day two of the second Test of two-match series on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The right-arm off-spinner surpassed Taijul Islam who had reached the same fate in 25 innings.
Among other Bangladeshi bowlers who took 100 or more wickets in Tests, Shakib Al Hasan – highest wicket-taker for the country in Tests – grabbed 100 wickets in 28 innings while Mohammad Rafique needed 33 innings to do so.

Superb batting display by West Indian batsmen helped the tourists post 409 in their first innings on the second day of Dhaka Test against Bangladesh.
Consistent performance by Nkrumah Bonner (90), Joshua Da Silva (92) and Alzarri Joseph (82) helped the Caribbeans take the driving seat in the second Test of Bangabandhu two-match series on Friday. The match is being played at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
In the first session of day two, Bangladesh were able to take only one wicket when Mehidy Hasan Miraz pulled off Bonner. But after launch break, Taijul Islam and Abu Jayed Rahi picked up the last four wickets.

Bangladesh pacer Abu Jayed said on Thursday that they are eyeing to restrict West Indies below 300 runs in the series-deciding second Test in Dhaka.
West Indies batsman Nkrumah Bonner struck unbeaten 74 while a couple of handy knocks by Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell guided the visitors to 223-5 against on the first day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
The hosts are currently trailing the series by 1-0 margin after they were beaten by three wickets in the opening game in Chattogram.
“It wasn t what I expected. The wicket is still flat. It seems to me that the wicket is not what we expected. The wicket is flatter and it will take more time to turn the wicket and get what we expect.”
