Calling all four-legged (and two-legged) area residents. The annual Worth Avenue Pet Parade on Saturday will be your chance to strut your stuff.
The 28th edition will start at 10 a.m. at Via Amore off Worth Avenue with registration beginning an hour earlier. The people who own the dogs. It s a chance for them to come out and show off their pets, said organizer Sherry Frankel of Sherry Frankel s Melangerie about the event s popularity. It s a fun event.
From dolled up Chihuahuas in car-shaped purses to a pig named Mona Lisa dressed in a jewel leotard and tutu, 25 pets last year gave it their all in the categories of Most Unique, Most Creative, Most Obedient and the coveted Best in Show. Frankel said she hope to have as many animals participate on Saturday.

Palm Beach is searching for a retail consultant that can help enhance shopping on the island with suggestions on filling dozens of empty storefronts and streamlining town code that might be blocking some stores from opening.
Town Council members agreed during a development review meeting Wednesday to issue a request for proposal to companies it hopes can turnaround what Planning and Zoning Committee Chairman Michael Ainslie called “the biggest crisis the town’s retail sector has ever faced.”
“We have over 40 vacant stores on Worth Avenue, its vias and the adjoining streets, including South County Road,” Ainslie said. “We also have an empty Neiman Marcus store that will never reopen as a department store again.”
