Selkirk man Ryan Napier, 22, has been fined at the town s sheriff court A BORDERS man has been fined £200 at Selkirk Sheriff Court after admitting two offences. Ryan Napier, 22, of Selkirk, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner in the town’s Bannerfield Drive on the afternoon of March 12 by acting in an aggressive manner, shouting and swearing and making derogatory remarks and threats of violence. He also admitted obstructing and hindering two police officers and struggling violently with them and uttering abusive remarks. Procurator fiscal Fraser Matheson explained police officers were investigating an incident near Bannerfield Drive at around 4pm and sought out Napier as they thought he would be a witness.
Selkirk Sheriff Court, where Galashiels man Robert Chaplin, 30, was fined and had a night-time home curfew imposed on him FINES totalling £325 and a night-time home curfew have been imposed on a Borders man at Selkirk Sheriff Court. Galashiels resident Robert Chaplin, 30, has been ordered to stay within his Gorse Lane home between the hours of 7pm and 7am for the next 10 months for a domestic breach of his bail conditions. He admitted various other domestic breaches which totalled £325, with a £30 victim surcharge added.

Galashiels man Peter Mulvey, 43, received a 10-month prison sentence at Selkirk Sheriff Court A GALASHIELS man who breached a court supervision order for the third time has been jailed for 10 months and been put on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years. Peter Mulvey, 43, was given a Community Payback Order in June 2019 which meant he would be under supervision for three years. Last September he was warned of the consequences of breaching the order again after he admitted contacting two women via Facebook Messenger without informing social workers. He also engaged in a conversation via Facebook without notifying social services staff of the identity of the person he was talking to.
