9 deaths, 294 new covid19 cases reported
This brings the death toll to 294.
In its covid19 update on Monday, the ministry said the people who died were four elderly men and two elderly women with comorbidities, and one middle-aged man and two middle-aged women with comorbidities.
It said 294 new cases had been detected from samples taken between May 13 and16.
Since March 2020, there have been 16,549 cases, of which 10,370 have recovered.
There are currently 5,885 active cases, approximately 35.5 per cent of the total number of cases since March 2020.
There are 388 patients in hospital, six more than Sunday. Of these, 146 are at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with 17 in the intensive care unit and 57 in the high dependency unit. The Ministry of Health reported five new deaths in its update on Friday. This brings the death toll to 196.
The fatalities were one elderly male and one elderly female, each with co-morbidities, as well as two middle-aged males and one middle-aged female, all without co-morbidities.
The update said 324 new cases had been detected from samples taken between May 4 and 6.
There are 3,480 active cases.
Since March 2020, there have been 12,720 cases, of which 9,044 have recovered.
There are 330 patients in hospital, 27 more than Thursday. Of these, there are 137 people at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with 11 in the intensive care unit and 41 in the high dependency unit. There are 97 people at the Caura Hospital, 35 at the Augustus Long Hospital, 38 at the Arima General Hospital, 21 at the Scarborough Regional Hospital, Fort King George and two at the Scarborough Regional Hospital, Signal Hill.

Four new deaths and 399 new cases of covid19 have been reported in the Health Ministry’s covid19 update for Wednesday. The total number of deaths is now 189.
Of the new deaths, two were elderly males, one with comorbidities, one middle-aged female with comorbidities, and one middle aged male without comorbidities.
Of the 399 cases, two were recently repatriated cases. The total number of active cases is 3,024. Since March, there have been 12,105 cases, of which 8,892 have recovered.
There are 276 people in hospital. There are 120 people in the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, ten in the intensive care unit and 30 in the high dependency unit. There are 77 at the Caura Hospital, 39 at the Augustus Long Hospital, 18 at the Arima Hospital, 21 at the Scarborough Regional Hospital, Fort King George, and one at the Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill.
5 more deaths, 158 new covid19 cases reported
Five more covid19 deaths have been recorded, bringing the total to 179.
Three were elderly men with comorbidities, one was a middle-aged man with no comorbidities, and the Health Ministry was awaiting information on the fifth.
In its covid19 update on Monday, the ministry said 158 new cases had been reported from samples taken between April 30 and May 2.
The total number of active cases stood at 2,559.
Since March 2020, there have been 11,471 cases. Of these 8,733 have recovered.
There are now 240 people in hospital, including 114 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with five in the intensive-care unit and 14 in the high dependency unit.
