Nitishwar Kumar reviews implementation of directions of Lt Governor
JAMMU : Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor, Nitishwar Kumar today chaired a meeting to review implementation of the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha with regard to achievements in public services delivery through digital platform, besides best practices in Public Administration and execution of three works in each department targeted for 2020-21 fiscal.
The meeting was attended by Administrative Secretaries, various Heads of Departments and other senior officers from their respective departments. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and all Deputy Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory attended the meeting via video conferencing.
SRINAGAR: A Parliamentary delegation comprising 31 delegates will arrive in Kashmir tomorrow (Wednesday) to review the Tourism, Culture, road and transport sectors in the valley.
Special Secretary to the Government and Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez while speaking to news agency KNO confirmed the visit of the Parliamentary Delegation and said the guests will meet the officials from Tourism department and other stakeholders associated with the department.
The Parliamentary Panel is scheduled to meet with stakeholders on leading aspects of Road sector, Tourism, Travel and Hospitality sector, in addition to a meeting with officials of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and J&K UT Government on ‘Role of highways in nation building.’

SRINAGAR, Jan 18: Several deputations from political parties and members of the Block Development Council today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the redressal of grievances and other issues.
A deputation of National Conference led by Member of Parliament, Hasnain Masoodi and comprising former legislators, Altaf Ahmad Kaloo, Ab Majeed Larmi, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabar, and Kaiser Jamsheed Lone called on the Lt Governor.
The visiting deputation urged for putting in short term and long term measures in place for bringing the economy back on track to fast revival and mitigation of people’s issues.

The authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have closed Srinagar-Jammu highway possibly for next ten days due to the sudden collapse of the retaining wall of a bridge at Kela Morh in Ramban. Hundreds of goods and other vehicles are stranded on the road.
A senior NHAI official said the road collapsed on its own and continuous rains might be one of the reasons. He also said that it is an approach road joining the bridge which has collapsed and the government has given directions to the BRO to construct an alternative bridge to resume traffic on the road.
