Corona test mandatory for patients visiting Haryana hospitals

Chandigarh, April 19 : Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Monday said COVID-19 test would be conducted for patients going to private and government hospitals with symptoms like cough, cold, sore throat or fever to ensure proper treatment is given to them.
Also, in view of the ongoing surge in coronavirus cases, surgeries in Civil Hospitals have been discontinued.
The Health Minister, while presiding over the meeting of the state-level Covid monitoring committee, said all devotees returning from Kumbh Mela would be tested for coronavirus at the entry points of Haryana so that the people suffering from the virus could be treated separately.

There are two ways to contain COVID.one is lockdown which is not viable. We want the lives to go on and people to be safe at the same time, Vij told ANI. The other way to curb the spread of infection is strictness in following the COVID-19 protocols, the minister said.

Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday said he would write to Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar to resume dialogue with the farmers holding protest at Delhi-Haryana borders and resolve the matter in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19.
Mr. Vij in a tweet said he was worried over the farmers camping at the Delhi borders in large numbers in view of the surge in cases of infection. “All steps are being taken in Haryana for protection from corona. I am worried about the farmers’ gatherings at Haryana borders. They also need to be protected from the virus. I am going to write to Union Agriculture Minister to resume dialogue and find a solution to cause these gatherings to disperse,” said Mr. Vij in a tweet.
Haryana to recruit 400 to 500 doctors

Chandigarh, March 9 : Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday said that to overcome the shortage of specialist doctors, a separate cadre for them would be created and soon recruit 400 to 500 doctors would be recruited.
Replying to a question during the Budget session of the Assembly here, he said, There are about 4,800 sanctioned posts of doctor in the state, out of which 1,141 posts are vacant. Of them, around 200 doctors are working in Chandigarh.
The Minister said since 2014 there has been an extensive improvement in the healthcare system. The maternal mortality rate has declined to 91 from 127, neonatal mortality rate to 22 from 26 and infant mortality rate to 30 from 41.
