Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday urged farmers to suspend their protest against farm laws amid the Covid-19 situation, claiming that their movements to and from dharna sites were spreading the infection in villages. While addressing the press conference, CM Khattar said, In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, I once again appeal to the farmer leaders to suspend their protests. The only goal, of all of us, should be to save the lives of people in the time of this crisis. There is nothing more than human life. Following these protests, the Chief Minister informed that in many villages, hotspots have emerged because from there, people are regularly coming and going back from dharna sites.

Farmers at the Singhu border said the protest is going strong amidst the raging pandemic as crowds are coming back to the site following the harvesting season.
Sukwinder Singh Barwa from Ropar said the crowd became half of the initial strength during the harvest season, but people are starting to come back.
“A group with over 250 tractors and trucks reached on May 10 while another group arrived on May 12,” he said.

CHANDIGARH: Taking note of the recent increase in COVID-infected patients in rural areas, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday directed all the deputy commissioners to set up village-level isolation centres in 50 or more villages (if there are hotspots) in each district over the next two days.
Haryana on Wednesday reported 165 fatalities due to COVID-19, taking the death toll to 6,075, while 12,490 fresh cases pushed the tally to 6,52,742.

Karnal (Haryana) [India], May 13 (ANI): As many as five Haryana roadways mini-buses at Karnal depot have been converted into Covid-19 ambulances on Wednesday and other districts are following the same with an aim to covert a total of 110 minibusses in the state.
According to the General Manager of Karnal roadways, Kuldeep Singh, with four oxygen beds capacity, besides other important medical equipment, the buses will be stationed in rural areas. There were five mini buses in Karnal which have been converted into ambulances as per the orders of the government. Our staff has prepared two buses till now and rest three will also get ready by evening today, said Kuldeep Singh.
