NEW YORK, NY .-Kasmin is presenting the gallerys first solo exhibition of work by artist Ali Banisadr (b.1976, Tehran). Comprising nine recent paintings, several of which were included in Banisadrs critically-acclaimed museum show at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT, in 2020-21, the exhibition also includes a new large-scale diptych, the first multi-panel work by the artist in six years. These Specks of Dust coincides with the publication of a major monograph by Rizzoli Electa featuring contributions from Negar Azimi, Robert Hobbs, Joe Lin-Hill, and John Yau.

It is a rare pink granite mined from a working quarry in Wells.Sign up for our Newsletters Richard Bois bought the Millennium Quarry in 2000 after it had been closed for 30 years. It is one of a handful of active quarries in Maine where granite is mined and fabricated on site. “It s definitely waned off from in the heyday, but there are still guys like us still doing the same job in essentially the same way,” Bois said.
