Lafayette Science Museum reopening in April

The Lafayette Science Museum, which has been closed since May, is planning to reopen April 10, the museum announced on Facebook on Tuesday. The museum s closure, brought on by COVID-19 restrictions, was lamented by Lafayette residents, though the museum remained active through virtual content. Beginning April 10, the museum will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. We have missed our friends within the science community, and look forward to seeing you all once reopened, the museum posted on Facebook. The museum was also one of many government-funded bodies on the chopping block during the summer of 2020, as Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory sought to cut the budgets of facilities like the Heymann Performing Arts Center, four northside recreation centers and the science museum.
