During the meeting and in a press release Tuesday, Guillory stopped short of encouraging residents to wear masks or get vaccinated against the virus, instead urging citizens to consult with a trusted doctor and to “do what is necessary to stay safe and healthy.”
“Forget what you heard the last 18 months. What you hear any politician saying, anybody on the (national) news or anything like that,” he said.
“Everybody here has someone they trust in the medical field. Go and talk to them. Ask them questions, whatever questions you have, and make your decision based on science and based on someone you trust.”
