It has been three years since the violence that broke out in northeast Delhi against the background of the powerful anti-CAA/NRC protests. The investigation of the violence has left much to be questioned.
A court here has charged a school owner and four others of rioting and arson in an alleged case of torching of properties and stone pelting during the 2020 northeast Delhi riots.
After the order, the court transferred the case back to a magisterial court concerned, saying that the case was not exclusively triable by the court of sessions.
During the course of the 2020 riots in northeast Delhi, a video allegedly showing a group of men being assaulted by police went viral. One of them, Faizan, died on February 28, 2020.
