Finnish telecom company Nokia reported a 102% increase in net sales in India in Q3 2023, driven by 5G deployments. However, it cautioned that the pace of 5G rollouts in India is starting to slow down. Net sales in North America fell 45% as customers evaluate spending and digest inventories. Nokias net sales declined in other regions as well, except for the Middle East & Africa which saw 2% growth.

Competitor and market leader Reliance Jio has also announced intentions to launch a similar product and is currently beta testing it across customers in different markets. The Mukesh Ambani-owned telco is widely expected launch its service during parent Reliance Industries annual general meeting scheduled on August 28. Jio didnt respond to ETs emailed queries.
