this morning word that an unruly passenger forced a flight to make an emergency landing. the man was trying to get in the cockpit and pry open the door. that s when it began rapidly descending to kansas city. whitney wild joins us now. this sounds nuts, whitney. reporter: absolutely. there were two incidents, john. there were two separate american airlines flights diverted sunday due to unruly passengers, a terrible trend we have seen the last year. the first flight from los angeles international airport to washington, d.c. was diverted due to an unruly passenger who tried to interfere with the flight crew, according to a kansas city aviation department spokesperson. an eyewitness on that flight, on that airbus a-321 said the passenger was trying to get into the cockpit and open the plane

Airbus Looks To A321 XLR To Exit Virus Crisis By Mathieu RABECHAULT

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit aircraft manufacturers hard but Airbus is already looking towards a new plane to help drive its recovery and get a leg up on rival Boeing.
The A321 XLR will be the latest in Airbus s single-aisle A320 family when deliveries begin in 2023.
The XLR stands for extra long range and the aircraft can more than handle crossing the North Atlantic, opening up the possibility airlines can use it on routes that have been the preserve of wide-body long-range aircraft up to now.
