With the deadline set by the Air Force for full vaccination less than three weeks away - the earliest deadline set by any branch of the armed forces - questions are being asked as to what comes next.

All active-duty soldiers in the Army are required to get the shot, and those who don’t will face disciplinary action.

But roughly 103,000 have yet to get their first shot, including 15,500 Air Force and Space Force members who could miss their services' deadline of Nov. 2.

In August, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered all members of the military to be vaccinated for COVID-19. So, what exactly happens to those who refuse?
