A Deer Isle man is facing charges after a standoff that began with deputies trying to serve an arrest warrant.

The suspect has been charged with escape, assault on an officer, creating a police standoff, refusing to submit to arrest and unlawful interference with law enforcement dogs, according to court

According to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, the man resisted and assaulted a deputy and a police dog.
