The Indian label industry faced several challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic. The supply chain and logistics industry was under heavy pressure due to travel limitations and a shortage of resources. The hit on the logistics industry impacted the supply of raw materials. The prices of paper, chemicals, adhesives, metal and other products shot up significantly. The Finnish paper mill strike also impacted the availability of labelstock in India.

Litograf, a printing company in Slovakia, has recently bought Lemorau Mebr+ machine.  The machine was developed in 330mm (about 1.08 ft) web, and the customer chose to add, as optional features, hot foil stamping with embossing drawer, air trim removal, easy strip waste rewinder and QRC software (quick remote connection).

DuPont Cyrel Solutions has launched a new Cyrel Lightning LFH plate. The new Cyrel Lightning LFH plate is said to deliver quick access times, consistent printing results, and a reduced environmental footprint.  The Cyrel Lightning LFH plate was built on the technology of the Cyrel Lightning plates, which received the FTA Technical Innovation Award in 2022.  

BSP Labels, located near Royston, Hertfordshire, has recently installed the AccurioLabel 230 digital toner press from Konica Minolta, supplied by Focus Label Machinery. The new press will help the company meet growing demand for short-run and variable data label production.

Campari Group has introduced Mayenda, a new luxury sipping tequila created to capture lost flavors from the heart of the agave in the United States and Mexico with the introduction of Mayenda Tequila Blanco. The sipping tequila's labels are made from 100 percent reclaimed agave byproduct. 

Apex International has announced the appointment of Ruud van Cuijk as its new chief executive officer. Ruud, who has been an essential part of Apex International's executive leadership team for the past decade, will assume the CEO position effective May 1, 2023. He will succeed Marian Waterschoot who will remain with the company as the new director of Apex Embossing B.V.

Loftware, a provider of enterprise labeling and artwork management products, has announced a global technology partnership with Toshiba. The agreement encompasses the development, support, and approval of Microsoft-certified Toshiba drivers for Loftware's NiceLabel suite of labeling and print solutions. This collaboration will enable users of Loftware NiceLabel to achieve optimal printing performance from any business application via Toshiba printers.
