Sealed Air and Koenig and Bauer AG have announced their intention to expand their strategic partnership for digital printing machines by signing a non-binding letter of intent.   The collaboration aims to enhance packaging design capabilities significantly by developing digital printing technology, equipment and services.  

Actega, a manufacturer of specialty coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants and compounds with a focus on the packaging and print industry, has announced a 5 million USD investment in its New Jersey facility. The investment will support various developments at the site, including the transition to automated production processes and plans to increase production capacity and storage space.

Matik has announced the addition of Chris Baldwin to its team. Baldwin is the Midwest sales manager for SEI Laser at Matik. With more than 30 years of experience in the label and printing sector, Baldwin began his career as a press operator before advancing to sales manager. He capitalized on his expertise from working with label and printing companies and transitioned to capital equipment sales.

Canon has introduced the LX-P5510 label printer, a pigment-based machine capable of printing 4-inch wide labels at high speed. The printer employs pigment-based inks to ensure excellent durability and long-lasting results. Pigment inks are resistant to running, smudging or fading when used with inkjet-compatible media. This color label printer can boost productivity and help businesses reduce costs, as on-demand printing eliminates the need for preprinted labels and outsourcing production.

Sun Chemical received the 2023 Flexographic Technical Association's (FTA) sustainability excellence award for innovations in sustainability. The award commends Sun Chemical's collection of mono-web protective coatings, which provide mono-web film structures as alternatives to the lamination structures typically found in labels and flexible packaging, such as wrappers and pouches.

DTM Print has launched AP-Code Lot and Date Coder for the label application process, adding the feature of printing dates, lot codes and text directly onto glass, metals, plastics and laminated labels.  The date coder, manufactured by Primera Technology, is designed to work with the AP-Series label applicators, including new and existing installed units. 

According to the report published by Knowledge Sourcing Intelligence, the Asia Pacific print labels market was valued at 15.778 billion USD in 2020 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.34 percent to reach a market size of 25.092 billion USD by 2027. Compared with the CAGR of 3.02 percent and 3.47 percent growth prognosis for North America and EMEA, the APAC region is expected to grow twice as fast, with food and beverage projected to hold a notable market share.
