So it is important to keep that comparison in mind. Something more extensive on the National Security side than on the criminal side. I want to make that clear theres nothing special. You took a lot of my time. A brief question but a good question. Let me raise one last issue. The solicitor general, donald borrelia, assured the Supreme Court any criminal defendant who was being prosecuted losing evidence directly or indirectly through surveillance authorized by section 702 of the fisa amendment would receive notification of that fact. That kind of notice is essential, and the lawfulness of surveillance. And after mister borrelia made that representation. Is not informing, the defendants when surveillance was used to build a case against them. They have changed since then. Hope it is an easy one for you. The department of justice always in forms, the defendants in the case against them build on evidence gained through 702 surveillance. The standard in the statute is evident, obtained or
Passing that legislation in the course of implementing this we learned that various city issued devices actually have excuse me, the amendment today essentially provides that the city may retain that use that technology, provided they do not use the face recognition function. We see this consistent to the spirit of the regulation passed earlier. It maintains the ban on the use of Face Recognition Technology and i think supervisor peskin in our office wants to work with the city to exercise our purchase power and try to find alternative devices without that embedded feature. For now, its a stock feature that is impossible to remove, its necessary to preserve the citys standing. Great, any questions . Thank you so much. Were going to open this item up for Public Comment. Any member of the public wish to speak . Seeing none, Public Comment is closed. [gavel] is there a motion . Excuse me, there are a number of clerical amendments. I apologize. Theyre throughout and clean up things to make
Like an earthquake. We worry about extending awss and cobenefit pipeline to the west side and putting in cisterns. We dont have this conversation around the park merceds. If we want to impose upon ourselves something that is more strings get than the state imposes upon us with the resulting impacts to surroundings Property Owners or future development, is there away we can model the risk and derm whether or not this is not worth our time and money and we should do what we continue to do which is cisterns and expansion of awss and new intake man folds on port property or something we will look back at when there is a huge fire that burns down half of district 11. We will say we were not concentrating on the wrong things or not enough things. I know you cant predict fire. Can you model fire out of the relatively small handfuls of the recand park. They have wasted the afternoon because you are not a problem. I am having a problem. University of california are great partners. Is there a wa
Promise that everybody would be able to come back to their units. Promises have rung hollow in the past. It wasnt surprising to me that many residents didnt feel wonderful and really safe based on those promises. Now its going to be the law, the law of the city. That is what it should have always been and thats what it finally will be and i could not be more excited and more proud to be supporting and be a sponsor of this legislation. Thank you so much supervisor walton for bringing it forward. If there are no more comments from my colleagues, we will open sorry mr. Miller. I just wanted Public Comments for our residents. That was what i was about to say, were going to open this item up for Public Comment. Anyone who likes to speak, feel free to line up to this side of the room. Every speaker will have 2 minutes to speak. Thank you very much. Good morning. Good morning supervisors. I didnt come here today to speak on this item, but now that im here, i im a resident from engleside and i
Capture it. Those are a real reason why many of us are in this business and do the work we do. I will skip over the list of hundreds of people i want to thank. I would like to thank the dozens of people who will look after this building here on out and look after the health of the people in it. I am very proud what we accomplished together to be here today. We did so under budget, mind you. I am proud tha that we will accomplish all of this in the future. Thank you very much for coming. Thank you. I want to just offer a few reflections. One is that i hope you will hear from all of us just the expression of gratitude. We realize we are in a privileged position to do the work to serve others. That is what a lot of us are very motivated by while in this room. Seven years ago mayor lee and ed had a vision p. 29 properties. 2 billion and where was that going to come from . How was it going to happen . A new program that none of us knew or understood very well. I understand the housing direc
