California held its primary elections March 5, officially kick-starting the election season in the state until the general election in November. Despite a competitive Senate race to replace former Sen.

As thousands get into the Valentine’s Day spirit, volunteers are trying to make the holiday a little more special for the patients of the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital.

The Division of Campus Life and BruinsVote co-hosted an installation of the Democracy Workshops series at the LATC Straus Clubhouse on Tuesday. The event focused on understanding elections and featured a presentation by Dean Logan, the Los Angeles County registrar-recorder and county clerk.

Students and staff gathered at Ackerman Union on Friday afternoon to celebrate the opening of the newly established Bruin Reflection Space. The Bruin Reflection Space, located near the south side of Ackerman Union, was jointly created by the University Religious Conference, UCLA Campus Life and Associated Students UCLA to provide students with a safe space for meditation and prayer.

The studio connects UCLA faculty with the global news media and provides video production services.

Campus operations will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

The Undergraduate Students Association Council held its last meeting of November on Tuesday. USAC is the official student government representing the undergraduate student body at UCLA.

Gov. Gavin Newsom recently approved two bills raising the hourly minimum wages for fast food and health care workers in California. Assembly Bill 1228 – introduced by state assemblymember Chris Holden, who represents Pasadena and parts of San Bernardino County, and signed into law by Newsom on Sept.

As students search for a nutrient-dense snack or meal, they often turn to acai bowls, whether it’s from dipnmix in Westwood, SAMBAZON in Ackerman Union or elsewhere.

Students discussed feeling a lack of support from UCLA and the Undergraduate Students Association Council during public comment at the council’s meeting Tuesday. USAC is the official student government representing the undergraduate student body at UCLA.
