Netflix is retiring its cheapest ad-free Basic subscription plan in certain countries where ad-supported plans are available. The ad-supported plan has shown strong growth, with 40% of new subscribers opting for it. The Basic plan will be replaced by the $6.99/month ad-supported plan or the $22.99/month Premium tier. This change will first be implemented in Canada and the UK in Q2 this year.
