The city housing authority is working with private developers Chase Properties and JWB Real Estate Capital on projects.

The JWB Real Estate Capital project would bring 175 apartments in 18 buildings to the historic Downtown district.  

The company plans to move its headquarters there and envisions a restaurant on the ground floor.

Preliminary plans for the 175-unit project on more than 2 acres is headed May 12 to the Downtown Development Review Board.

The company that finds, fixes and builds investment properties also is working on projects in Downtown Jacksonville and rehabbing an Arlington shopping center.

The owner of two historic buildings in the Downtown Central Core District is seeking nearly $9 million in forgivable and deferred loans from the city to help finance simultaneous redevelopment of the properties.
