The adoptive grandmother of an 11-year-old Spring Valley girl who died from severe abuse and torture has been charged with murder.

Arabella McCormack was found unconscious and emaciated by paramedics in San Diego county in August 2022. Prosecutors now say her adoptive parents and grandparents coordinated the abuse.

Newly filed charges allege parents, grandparents "worked as a team to create an environment of torment, pain, suffering, violence, and fear" for three adopted sisters. The oldest, 11-year-old Arabella McCormack, died.
