Easy Furniture Web Tip #304: For Smoother Text, De-That Your Copy

Furniture World News By Katherine Andes on 2/16/2021 Generally, I like my copy to be smooth. I want readers to glide across it like a talented ice skater. So when I wrote my last tip — You Not We — before I sent it to my editors at Furniture World Magazine, I used my trusty checklist to review my copy and make sure there weren’t any “bumps in the ice.” One of the items on my checklist is to “de-that” the copy. That involves simply doing a search for “that” and seeing if each that is necessary. Here is what I found.

people, all of these people who should be working for the interests of america are being thanked like they are members of a traveling show. >> it's like the play. he has written it all out, he just doesn't have any facts to fill it all in. part of all of this, think of what is happening right now. the president is overseas defending our country and they are back home dividing our country. dethat is what's wrong with thi. that's why this president is being presidential and they are doing exactly what they always said they would do. for adam schiff to sit there and lie once again in the press conference, not knowing how he is going to vote? a couple weeks ago he was in california speaking to all the democrats, we are going to send him back to the golden throne. this is all he has wanted to do, and he will do anything to get it. he will continue to lie, if that's what it takes. the one i'm going to get into this a little bit more later on in the hour but i was literally howling out loud this afternoon watching some of these media types. i don't think they remember a time when republicans were this unified and what does it tell
