Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz told The Spotlight that he is trying to create a position within the department with the goal of helping and supporting families of homicide victims. 

Teenagers Conner Dassa-Holland and Adriel Webb were shot and killed in Seattle just two months apart in 2020. Now, their mothers are turning their grief into action, co-founding the Parents of Murdered Children chapter in Washington.

Last year there were 26 deadly shootings in Seattle. So far this year, there have been 34.

Anguish with too few answers is how so many families feel who have lost loved ones to gun violence in Seattle, especially those whose cases remain unsolved. These people spoke during a virtual forum Thursday night about their real concern that their family members who were killed have become just another case file or even a forgotten news headline.
