Some want to down size or move to a new neighborhood thats closer to family, but they also worry that making such a change will increase their property taxes. Thats why i want to share with you a property tax saving program called proposition 60. So how does this work . Prop 60 was passed in 1986 to allow seniors who are 55 years and older to keep their prop 13 value, even when they move into a new home. Under prop 13 law, property growth is limited to 2 growth a year. But when ownership changes the law requires that we reassess the value to new market value. Compared to your existing home, which was benefited from the which has benefited from the prop 13 growth limit on taxable value, the new limit on the replacement home would likely be higher. What the house passed was to extend five years, two years longer than the prior authorization. They provided a 7 increase the first year and 6 each year, totaling 35 increase over five year. They included language to make clear that aaa could engage to expand services outside of the act. They provided additional funding to provide the native american aging programs for the provision of Supportive Services and Capacity Building training. They removed title three e cap on families and older relative caregivers, increasedded research and demonstration at the u.

In your personal life and professional life everything has been intertwined in terms of your campaigning work, your academic work. I just wonder whether you ever, for a moment, considered going into something entirely disconnected from your own personal circumstances such as accountancy, law, geology . There are short people, restricted growth people in all of those professions. There are farmers, teachers, solicitors, everything. But i did not go that way. So as a social scientist i have always been interested in what ive experienced and disability has to be top of the list. Let me ask you about growing up. Your family has its own history which is important to talk about, i think. Your grandfather, it seems, experienced a mutation, a genetic mutation. My father. He was born in 1927.
