Welcome to culture wire. We will look at the latest and greatest public art project. Recently, the airport unveiled the new state of the art terminal. Lets take a look. The new Terminal Service and American Airlines and Virgin America was designed by a world renowned architectures firm. Originally built in 1954, the building underwent massive renovation to become the first registered terminal and one of the must modern and sustainable terminals and the united states. The Public Art Program continues its 30year legacy of integrating art into the airport environment with the addition of five new commissions that are as bold and dynamic as the new building. This project was completed in record time, and we were able to integrate the artists early enough in the process that they could work with the architect said that the work that is completed is the work that really helps complement and instill the space as opposed to being tucked away in a corner. Is a very odd thing. Maybe i need a ceremony. These routes that i am following have led me all over the place. The one i am about to tell you about didnt actually occur in house of rain. House of rain was getting too large, too many stories, but i was looking at how shells get traded. There are shell trade routes all over the southwest. Shell was a primary material for making jewelry, for using in burials, and you had to walk 600 miles to get it, down to the sea of cortez, the water thats in between baja and the main land of mexico. And i tracked routes all the way down to the border over years and then across the Mexican Border into sonora and then it a place called penacate and then a dune, 5,000 square miles of sand dunes, a beautiful landscape, but no water out there. But pottery, broken pottery all over in certain places and pieces of shell left behind where you could see that the people were crossing these dunes to the sea and picking up shell and then crossing back and then movi

Blocks, include 54 townhomes, 105 flats and they are expected to be complete in april 2015. Well have again a more detailed report for you in 2014, early 2014, but i wanted to let you know that your work and your leadership are resulting in new homes on the shipyard, in total approximately now it will be 250 homes under construction. Housing, really housing for all working families, working san franciscans. So, thats quite exciting. And then i did want to draw your attention, just as a personal point of privilege, to share a communication that i received from the Hunters Point developer, lennar. I have received notice that cheryl smith, who is the director of their community affairs, many of you know her from her deep work. She comes from the bayview. Her tireless work of the last six years. Certainly she will be missed. Shes created a deep bench there in order to carry on her work. But really, i think the shipyard, it stands where it does today in large part to her personal commitment
Would just for our policy wed let everybody smoke outside whether its an e cigarette or not. But if youre circulating the crowd would you follow the policy of what the policies that ask people to go outside. It helps a policy to abide by. When ive had remember the parties and things like that i dont think how you feel about that but wed search everybody to stop drugs if coming in. We dont do a thorough search we kind of see other people that may have gotten by and maybe see, you know, educate or mitigate problems . I guess first, we dont specifically tell people to smoke inside or outside thats a question from commissioner joseph. But if thats the pole i recommend people follow. As to the other question obviously venues need to try to be within the law and, you know, 06r789s search people for laughness and thats fine. With respect to us if we see people with drugs after theyre inside and telling the venue thats unfortunately would erode trust between us and the patrons. Well just tryin
