At a meeting with Kern River Valley Residents on Monday Kern County Public Works said they hope to start construction in April and have the road open by July.

Public works hopes to restore the road for emergency use within the next few weeks. Thus will open the road to emergency services, law enforcement, as well as residents in the case of an evacuation.
