The Rhode Island College Foundation has generously provided mini grants (up to $2,000) to support faculty projects focused on student engagement. This funding opportunity was initiated by RIC Foundation Board President Joyce Stevos, who is also a three-time RIC alumna (’65, ’97 and ’05).
Assistant Professor of Sociology Alessandra Bazo Vienrich, Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education Soumyadeep Mukherjee and Assistant Professor of English Ricardo Quintana-Vallejo (pictured above, from left) are the 2023 recipients of the North Star Collective (NSC) Faculty Fellowship designed to support the professional development of faculty members who are Black, Indigenous or other people of color (BIPOC).
The North Star Collective (NSC) has awarded the 2023 NSC Faculty Fellowship to RIC Assistant Professor of Sociology Alessandra Bazo Vienrich (pictured left in photo above) and RIC Assistant Professor of Health Education Soumyadeep Mukherjee (pictured right in photo above). Designed specifically to support the professional development of BIPOC faculty members, this semester-long fellowship will run from January 2023 through May 2023. Both Bazo Vienrich and Mukherjee will each receive a $1,500 stipend for research, publication and professional development.
