Rhode Island College’s School of Social Work has been awarded a four-year U.S. Health Resources & Services Administration grant bringing in $650,000 in the first year with a possibility of renewal for another three years, totaling $2.6 million.
The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island (WFRI), a leader in the movement to improve policies that impact women and girls in Rhode Island, has announced it will be hosting “RealTalk with Women’s Fund of Rhode Island: Status of Women in RI.”

Rhode Island College has become the first institution of higher education in Rhode Island to earn federal Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) status. HSI status is defined by the Higher Education Act and designated by the U.S. Department of Education to acknowledge Title V-eligible colleges and universities where 25 percent or more of total undergraduate full-time equivalent student enrollment identifies as Hispanic or Latinx. Eligibility must be met annually.
