Born and bred in Alexandra – Joshua Mbatha or DJ Jorontina as he was popularly known joined Alex FM as a young and eager intern and rose through the ranks until he became the music manager.

A music compiler and presenter at Alex FM, Joshua Mbatha, 32, was fatally shot on Thursday night in Alexandra, northern Johannesburg.

A statement by the station said that Mbatha, or DJ Jorontinah, as he was affectionately known was killed during a robbery.
