Artist Ken Fox brought a special gift to Algona and presented it at the art exhibit and reception held for him last Monday at the Algona Publishing Gallery.

The Stinson Prairie Arts Council held a morning art exhibit for Kossuth County High Schoolers on Monday, April 15 at the Algona Publishing Gallery. Students from Algona High School, West Bend-Mallard High School and Bishop Garrigan High School competed for cash prizes with their favorite piece they created this year. First place from Algona High School was Breanna Abendroth with her drawing entitled Dissonance. (First picture below)

ALGONA—New unwrapped toys or monetary donations for Toys for Tots will be accepted on Saturday, October 14 from 3-5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Algona Publishing at 14 E. Nebraska Street, in Algona. All donations will be in distributed to children in Kossuth County for Christmas.

Art lovers had the privilege of stepping into the imagination of Kim Jacobson (far right) at her first art exhibit last Saturday, July 29 at the Algona Publishing gallery. Jacobson has always been creative but never considered herself an artist until a friend called her one a couple of years ago. Creating art comes so naturally to her that she doesn’t realize her talent and thought everyone could do what she does.

The Stinson Prairie Arts Council and the Haggard-Twogood Trust held the first ever Junior High Art exhibit and reception at the Algona Publishing Gallery. Students from Bishop Garrigan, West Bend-Mallard and Algona participated. A reception was held Monday, April 17.
