Construction is underway for the new development of commercial space and housing at the long-struggling Crystal Court shopping center in Crystal Lake.

The Crystal Lake City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a $14 million economic incentive package aimed at transforming the long-struggling Crystal Court shopping center into a complex with apartments, townhomes, restaurants, retail stores, an outdoor public area and possibly a hotel.

Neighbours say they worry about the increased traffic the 150-unit complex in the the Algonquin Road area would create if it is built.
