Crowds have confronted gardaí in the streets around the area – throwing bottles, bags of rubbish and other missiles at police as public order officers were deployed.

Gardaí said they are currently working with Luas operators "in relation to a phone call made regarding suspicious activity" this evening

All trams on both lines have since reopened, but delays are still expected
