Some of these were rooted in differences inside nato, about, for example, Nuclear Strategy, the Alliance Structure and its operations and others flowed from disagreements over policies of or actions by one or more allies outside in regions or on issues outside of natos purview and just to give you a flavor of some of these not so important disagreements, during the 1950s, the allies were struggling over the questions of german rearmament and the succession into nato was the federal republic.
