LAKE JAMES, Ind (WFFT)-- Saturday a Steuben County couple took their private plane out from the Tri-State Steuben County airport.

Authorities were scheduled to finish up their on-site investigation Tuesday of the Socata TMB-700 that was involved in Sunday’s fatal plane crash near the Mason County Airport.

Allison Wheaton, 43, and Randy Strebig, 60, were killed in the crash near Ludington in Michigan. The plane crashed just after takeoff from the Mason County Airport.

A pair of newlyweds from Indiana died along with their two dogs when their single-engine plane crashed just after takeoff at Mason County Airport in Ludington, Michigan.

A well-known Steuben County couple was identified as victims who died in Michigan plane crash, an official confirmed Monday.

Randy Strebig, 60, of Angola, Indiana and his wife Allison Wheaton, 43, were killed. The couple's two dogs also died in the crash.

The names of the victims in Sunday’s plane crash were confirmed by the Michigan State Police Hart Post Monday afternoon.
