The Laurel School Board approved a tentative contract on Wednesday with the Laurel Teachers’ Association, thus avoiding a strike authorized in July by the union.

The teachers union in the Laurel School District authorized a strike to take effect at the end of August if a new labor contract isnt agreed upon by then.
