A woman who killed her mother after stabbing her in the neck while under the influence of drugs has died. Alva Dodd, 42, was jailed over the attack on her mother Ruth, 71, at her home in Heatley, Townsville in January 2015. The pair had been arguing over a phone when suddenly Dodd jammed the knife into her mothers neck - causing an artery to partly sever.
