Amazon lets you use palm-based payments when you're at one of its stores, and its bringing this to more stores.

Amazon will let customers at all of its Whole Foods stores pay with a simple wave of their hand.

Whole Foods customers will be able to pay with their palm at all stores with the Amazon One recognition service by the end of the year.

Amazon wants customers to leave their wallets and phones at home.

Customers shopping at Amazon's US-based Whole Foods grocery stores will be able to pay for items by hovering their palm over a scanner, much like shoppers already do with smartphones or credit cards.The service can also be found in several entertainment venues and airport shops, and is also being tested in some Starbucks cafes.

Amazon announced Thursday it is rolling out its pay-by-palm services in Whole Foods Market stores across the country, making it possible for customers to use their palm for purchases without a wallet or phone.  

There is no need for a wallet or phone and Prime members can link their Amazon One profile to their account to receive savings and rewards at more than 500 Whole Foods stores.

This payment option will be available at all stores by 2024, Amazon says.

The grocery store chain is planning to equip every one of its more than 500 stores with palm biometrics payment by the end of 2023.

Amazon is rolling out its palm recognition program at more than 400 locations across the U.S. and is currently available at 200 Whole Foods stores. The company says it expects all 500+ Whole Foods locations will have the service by the end of the year.
