Fired-up Springfield-Montco starts hot, downs Mount St. Joseph in District 1-2A quarterfinals

Maggie Rezza, Katie Westmoreland and Madeline Maszczak led a dominant offensive performance for Mount Saint Joseph Academy in the first round of the District 1-2A playoffs. The three combined for 13 goals as the defending champions handled Chichester, 20-5.

After starting the season with four losses, Mount Saint Joseph Academy has rattled off seven straight wins. The defending District 1-2A champions took care of AACA rival Gwynedd Mercy Academy, 17-5, Tuesday.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and Mount St. Joseph Academy kept things local, meeting for a lacrosse match on March 25.

It was way too late in the season for a scrimmage, but thats what last Mondays meeting between Mount St. Joseph Academy and visiting Germantown Friends School turned into.

Last Thursdays morning rain tapered off in the afternoon, with only the occasional light sprinkle to be felt by the time Mount St. Joseph Academy began a non-league lacrosse match.
