A total of 185 new funds (both open and close-ended) were launched, also known as NFOs (new fund offers) in fiscal 2024 raising a total of whopping ₹66,364 crore, shows the AMFI data
The AMFI data says individual investors now hold a relatively higher share of industry assets i.e., 60.1 percent in January 2024 as compared to 57.3 percent in Jan 2023
In equity funds, large-cap and mid-cap funds saw net inflows of Rs 1,287 crore and Rs 2,061 crore, respectively. Small-cap fund inflows fell 16% to Rs 3,257 crore in January.
The sectoral/thematic funds again managed to gain investors interest as the category saw the highest inflows to the tune of Rs 4,804.69 crore in January compared to Rs 6,005.49 crore in December. Smallcap funds witnessed the second-highest inflows of Rs 3,256.98 crore.
