Court finally rules that negligence caused EC child's brain injury
Despite the Eastern Cape MEC for health admitting negligence by healthcare workers during the birth of a Somerset East boy 14 years ago, the Bhisho high court in 2021 absolved medical staff of responsibility, finding there was no causal link between staff negligence and the brain injury suffered by the child.
