This years Amaranth Yatra will begin on July 1. Over 120 langars (community Kitchens) are being established this year for the pilgrims along the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal leading to the cave shrine.

The experts panel, constituted following the Supreme Courts concern over the large number of pilgrim deaths in 2012, had cautioned against the consumption of cold drinks and fried junk food as there is a shortage of oxygen on both routes of the cave shrine.
