A 56-year-old man remains in serious condition in hospital, Winnipeg police say, after an assault Saturday night on River Avenue.

More than a dozen people, including nine Winnipeggers, are facing charges as part of the investigation into a large-scale, interprovincial drug network, police say.

A man is in custody following an investigation by Winnipeg police into an arson and theft incident at the Red River College's Exchange District campus in February.

Winnipeg police say the gun sale appears to have been legal, and the victim was a gun owner with proper documentation and licensing.

A Winnipeg woman remains in custody and is facing manslaughter charges following an investigation into the death of a two-month-old infant, say police.

Winnipeg police said the incident involved a man who was armed and barricaded inside a residence with a woman. No charges have been laid so far.

Police said they discovered 'commercial explosives' at the Warde Avenue condo and safely removed them, after determining that there were no signs of an imminent detonation.

Officials say the child ingested a substance believed to be fentanyl. The child was then rushed to the hospital and an administration of Narcan stabilized their condition.

Police said while officers were speaking with the man, a concealed firearm fell to the ground. 

Three individuals have been arrested and remain in custody. Several items were also seized by Winnipeg police, including drugs and packaging materials.
