Gadsden voters will chose between Craig Ford and Heather Brothers New in a runoff for the citys first new mayor since 2006.

According to City Clerk Iva Nelson, there are 20,309 active and 2,847 inactive voters on the rolls in Gadsden.

Here is a look at the five candidates for the District 2 seat on the Gadsden City Council. The election will be held on Aug. 23.

The two-week qualifying period for Gadsden municipal elections began Tuesday, with at least 13 people signing up to put their names on the ballot.
