City officials have formally passed the torch to new Sandpoint mayor Jeremy Grimm and council members Pam Duquette and Kyle Schreiber.

Maternity wards, geese, Travers Park, recalls, and resignations all have one thing in common — they all made significant city and education headlines in Bonner County in 2023.

Councilor Andy Groat resigned during Wednesday night's city council meeting, expressing regret over his past decisions regarding Travers Park renovations.

The discussion began with construction manager Holly Ellis offering some context for the project.
