Cyclists and joggers along the Fox River Trail in East Dundee soon will have something new to look at as the villages first public mural comes to life.

Saying residents are getting "the government they deserve," East Dundee Village President Jeff Lynam lambasted some village trustees Monday for the way they campaigned ahead of their reelection this month.

The East Dundee Arts Council has chosen young artist Madeline Deiters of ThreeLine Art to create the village’s first mural, the theme of which is the Fox River and its wildlife.

Shanna McKee and Andy Sauder are running for a 2-year seat on the East Dundee village board in the April 4 election. Here, they discuss water quality, parking, police pensions and other issues in town.

East Dundees Arts Council is looking for an artist, or artists, to create a mural that highlights the villages heritage.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, East Dundee Village Trustee Tricia Saviano spent time making signs with encouraging quotes from Bob Marley. Now shes helping lead the villages newly created arts council, and applications are being taken from people whod like to serve on it.
