While the city cuts through red tape, New Orleans’ many urban explorers risk arrest, and sometimes even risk their lives, to show us what lies beneath.

For years or even decades they have been embarrassing eyesores on the cityscape, and more recently have become magnets for crime and in some cases death traps.

The mother of the teen who fell off an abandoned building spoke to WWL-TV.

It comes after multiple incidents in abandoned buildings across the city.

"Buildings big and small across the city, that are falling down, that on any given day, are a threat to maybe the buildings around it and people on the street,”

Only on WDSU Valerie Walker spoke out on Tuesday in memory of Clawson, a recent graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office said 18-year-old Anthony Clawson, a Benjamin Franklin High School died after falling at the Market Street Power Plant.
