A global team of researchers used machine learning to identify 90 million impact craters on Mars. Mars was struck by an asteroid between five and ten million years ago.

The meteorite is just under 4.5 billion years old

The chemistry of the meteorite indicates that Mars had volcanic activity similar to that on Earth, recording the first stage of Mars’ geological evolution.

The world's earliest Martian meteorite was dubbed Black Beauty and discovered over 4.5 billion years ago, adding scientific proof that Mars was capable of ife.
