Apple Masimo Case News Today

Apple shares closed 0.5% lower at $182.68 after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled on Wednesday the company could no longer sell the models at the center of a the legal battle with medical technology company Masimo.

ITC had earlier ruled that Apple had infringed the patents of California-based tech company Masimo. Apple subsequently filed an emergency request asking the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to halt the order.

Post the court order, Apple said in a statement that Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches would be back on sale in Apple Stores and through Apples website on Thursday.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Series 9 sales have resumed today in the US after the US Court of Appeals temporarily paused the ban imposed by the International Trade Commission (ITC).

"We strongly disagree with the USITC decision and resulting exclusion order, and are taking all measures to return Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 to customers in the U.S. as soon as possible," Apple said in a statement on Tuesday.

Apple had made a motion to the International Trade Commission to temporarily halt the order while the case is under appeal or in light of a potential government shutdown.
